I was looking at this the other day when it was your bday but you weren't hereeee!!

The coloring and structure is very very nice. I love the soft lighting affects on the clothing and the brick work is beautiful. The character's physical structure is nice too because it all the proportions look really really good. The outfit rocks and the color choices are perfect for a sort of mid or late morning sunrise type image or maybe a cloudy afternoon. I also get the impression that it's somewhat cool with a very slight breeze, the hands in the pocket and the jacket sort of relay the cold, while the hair and smoke tell about the breeze. I like the backpack because it let's me know that traveling, whether it be to school or a friend's house or anywhere really, is at least a possibility or concern for the character. And the coloring on the hair rocks =)

Things to think about:
The shadowing behind the body is nice, but there is a soft line almost outlining the shadow. Whether or not that is intentional or stylistic I can't say, but that's because it's your artwork. The character's eyes also seem a bit vacant. The lack of a meaningful expression sort of takes away from the image because it has so much effort put into it without really conveying a meaning. What's being thought? Is there something we can't see that the character is watching? The brickwork, while very nice, is almost "too nice" because they don't quite look like bricks. Bricks are supposed to be very rough and a bit more square, but that could be fixed very easily by adding in some simple stippling to indicate texture, so maybe toss that in. There's also an oval shapped piece of wallpaper stuck to the brick just below the wanted sign. It's the only piece of wallpaper with a thick shadow on the edge.

Some pointers:
Tossing a strong shadow of perhaps a building or another person will get the viewer thinking more about what is going on in the image. As is, you have a character leaning against the wall having a smoke. Maybe they're thinking about the day or maybe they are just trying not to think at all? Adding in a shadow of a religious building or just a very large building or maybe of a child or adult or anything else would give us some insight into what is being thought or where the character is located.

So, that's my critique. A beautiful beautiful piece, With some very very nice touches to the character's wardrobe and the coloring is fantastic. The picture could just use some minor touch ups, which with photoshop should be absolute cake!

I LOVE IT!!! cheers

Thanks very much Nok and Darkyine!

Nok thanks very much, I agree with what you said, the black lines are my line art that I made by hand...I made this drawing for a contest and I started making it at 08:00hs and I had to send it by letter till 17:00hs in the same day...I was a kind of stressed this day because of the thousand things I had to do, I dont know how I finished the drawings and sent on time...the point is that I really works when I'm pressured...so I scanned the drawing and sent the original to the contest...I cant add more things in the drawing I just tried to colored it...

I'm very happy that you all liked it \o/
Thanks again for looking so careful to the drawing, it ll really help me improving to the next you ^^

Btw, I win the contest in the first place in Black & white category with this drawing and in second place with that drawing in colored (by hand) category : http://universitaria.deviantart.com/art/Beleza-oriental-98070170 Smile

Minor criticism from me. Brickwork is too colourful detracting from the
main focal point, and the drop shadows should be smoother. Otherwise,
excellent. I was a custom paint airbrusher.
